To keep babies safe, Hope Women's Resource Clinic has a program called Safe Riders. Safe Riders can help provide a car seat to eligible caregivers in the Southeast Texas region. Safe Riders only offers brand-new car seats to eligible caregivers. If you need a car seat, you must complete the Safe Riders program.
To get a car seat:
Create an account at saferidersbmt.com
Complete an online class, in-person group class, or one-on-one appointment.
Schedule a time for an installation demonstration.
A Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) will meet with you one-on-one to show you how to install your specific car seat in your vehicle and answer any questions you may have.
Car seats are available once you enter your 3rd trimester. If you need to know if you're eligible or when your third trimester starts, you can take the eligibility quiz or use the 3rd trimester calculator here.
If you already have a car seat and would like help installing it or need any questions answered, you can reach out to the Safe Riders program to schedule a one-on-one with a CPST for your child's car seat.
For any other information or questions regarding the Safe Riders program, please visit saferidersbmt.com or call or text (409) 799-7328.
